21st September – 7pm. (doors open 6.30pm)
So you think you know what a race night is like! well this one is different. No TV screen or films of races to watch. What we have is two cardboard dogs – yes that’s right and a pair of fluffy dice.
The ‘race track’ will be down the middle of the church, the race master will roll the dice for one dog and move it accordingly, up the ‘track‘, then do the same for the second dog, and so on until one of them reaches the end of the ‘track’. Naturally there will be several races in each half. All bets will be placed before the ‘race’ begins, and at the end of the ‘race’ the winnings are given out, the odds have been carefully worked out, with some of the money being kept for the church – this is after all a fundraising event. Expect there to be lots of laughter and shouts of encouragement for your dog.
Entry on door £5 per person and bets will be 50p each. Tea and coffee will be available, but if you would prefer wine or beer please bring your own. Don’t forget to bring lots of cash. Enjoy!
