Fundraising

St. Margaret’s church is completely and solely funded from contributions from the congregation and the community, without these contributions your church would not be able to remain open.

PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETION December 1st – April 30th

By popular request we are running this competition again, widening the area for photographs to include Clenchwarton and Kings Lynn, which will provide plenty of scope for all photographers out there! The photos submitted last year were all of a very high standard so I look forward to seeing them all this year.

The competition starts on December 1st and runs until April 30th by which time all photos must have been submitted. Two independent judges will judge the photos.

There are three age categories: under 11, 12 – 17, and 18 and upwards. Photos can be taken on phones or cameras and must be printed out before submission (10” X 8”). The full set of rules are on the reverse of the entry forms are now in church (Downloadable Here). There will be prizes for the winner in each category.

There will be an announcement of the winners and a display of all photos in church on Saturday May 17th

So – get your thinking caps on. Where is the best place to get ‘that’ photo, how will the light affect my subject, what is behind my subject(!!) etc? Happy Snapping

On-going Costs

For the upkeep of the church, we welcome donations from all, this will help with general maintenance and repairs.

St Margaret’s Clenchwarton receives no external funding from the government, local authority, or the Church of England. We are therefore reliant on the generosity of our visitors and friends. Last year it cost £66 a day to keep the church running and open 365 days a year for all the community to enjoy. Any significant repairs to the structure of the building or projects to improve the facilities are extra, and funds must be raised to meet the costs. Thank you for your support in preserving St Margaret’s for future generations. Please feel free to drop in a donation, however modest, in the wall safe by the door.

We are now using a great website called easyfundraising to help raise money to improve the facility in our church simply by shopping online.

easyfundraising turns your everyday online shopping into FREE donations when you use them to shop with over 4,000 retailers such as eBay, John Lewis, Argos, ASOS and Booking.com.

Retailers then make a small donation to say ‘thank you’ and easyfundraising gives those free funds to our cause.

Please register using this unique link – just click sign up – https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/stmargaretsclenchwarton/?invite=USE1O6&referral-campaign=c2s

Plus, once you’ve signed up and raised £5 in donations, easyfundraising will give us an extra £5 donation. There’s no catch or hidden charges and we at St Margaret’s Church are extremely grateful for any donations that we receive.

Long Term Projects

As a necessary improvement and for the church to become more viable place for the congregation, community and visitors, the church needs to upgrade its facilities. Therefore, church and diocese have agreed a plan to install a kitchen and toilet facilities, this will include disabled access.

We need your support to help raise money to build this modest £80,000 improvement to your parish church. If you can help with a donation or want to run a fundraiser for us, please get in touch with Eileen by emailing fundraising@clenchwarton-church.org.uk and for more information on this project, please contact Debra on warden@clenchwarton-church.org.uk.
